Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapists work with children who are experiencing illnesses, injuries, or conditions that limit their ability to move or function in their daily life. They provide services aimed to improve mobility, develop or restore function, alleviate pain, prevent or decrease permanent physical disabilities, and promote overall health and wellness.  Pediatric physical therapists provide services aimed at promoting a child's ability to function independently and participate actively in home, school, and community environments.

Our pediatric physical therapists are highly-trained in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), respiration training and coordination and Kinesiotaping.  Our therapists are able to assess footwear and orthotics and can provide annual physical therapy exams.  We work with, but are not limited to, treating children who have impairments in strength, balance, coordination and/or endurance related to the following diagnoses:

  • Ataxia

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Congenital conditions

  • Down Syndrome

  • Gait Abnormalities

  • Gross Motor limitations

  • Hypotonia

  • Musculoskeletal conditions

  • Neurological conditions

  • Plagiocephaly

  • Scoliosis

  • Torticollis

  • Toe Walking

"Our daughter has been working with Miriam for almost 6 years.  She has always looked forward to her weekly “play” sessions.  The progress our daughter has made over the years has been incredible to watch.  As a 1 year old, she wasn’t moving at all.  Miriam helped give her the tools which enabled her to roll over, transition, crawl and walk all on her own.  As a 7 year old, our daughter is now running, jumping and climbing.  Miriam has also been an incredible resource to our family in terms of advice with schooling, extracurricular activities, and doctor recommendations.  Miriam is always friendly, warm, engaging and encouraging!"
